The four owners of Marla Singer, Pete, Bree, Jono and Annette

Our Story

Marla’s roots lie deep within hospitality. It’s a restaurant created for those who want to share the knowledge that the owners have learnt in long careers in the industry. A classic Chef meets waitress and falls in love story, that culminates into a third business located in the exact place the chef started his apprenticeship. You couldn’t make it up. Jonathan started his apprenticeship in this very building, before cooking for the state’s best restaurants and meeting Brianna. They went on to open Ruckus Fried Chicken and eventually had the opportunity to take over their dream spot in Bellerive. It’s here they called upon Annette to assist in operations and provide the classic touches Marla is known for. Marla takes its coffee seriously so they obtained the help of fellow Eastern Shore coffee Guru, Pete Ladyman, who overseas everyone’s favourite beverage at Marla and keeps the cogs turning. The story of Marla is still unfolding with each person that steps through the door.
